Bulgogi is one of the most recognized Korean beef recipes and for good reason. It is savory, lightly sweet, tender, and easy to pair with rice, lettuce, or side dishes.
This Korean bulgogi recipe marinates beef with soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil, and pear or sugar for a tender glossy result.
Ingredients
- 400 grams thin sliced beef
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon sugar or grated pear
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 onion, sliced
- Spring onion and sesame seeds
Method
Marinate the beef for at least 30 minutes. Cook quickly in a hot pan with onion until the meat caramelizes lightly and the marinade turns glossy. Finish with sesame seeds and spring onion.
Bulgogi can be served with rice, lettuce wraps, or used as part of a full Korean meal with banchan.
