One popular Indian dish is Chicken Tikka Masala.
Here is a recipe for it:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch chunks
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, minced
- 1 cup tomato puree
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix together the yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Add the chicken and toss to coat. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
- Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger and sauté until softened and lightly browned.
- Add the tomato puree and cook for a few minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers and grill or broil until cooked through.
- Add the grilled chicken to the tomato mixture and stir in the cream. Simmer for a few minutes until heated through.
- Serve over rice and garnish with fresh cilantro.
