Chicken Tikka Masala

One popular Indian dish is Chicken Tikka Masala.

Here is a recipe for it:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Add the chicken and toss to coat. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
  2. Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger and sauté until softened and lightly browned.
  3. Add the tomato puree and cook for a few minutes until the mixture thickens.
  4. Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers and grill or broil until cooked through.
  5. Add the grilled chicken to the tomato mixture and stir in the cream. Simmer for a few minutes until heated through.
  6. Serve over rice and garnish with fresh cilantro.
